my first time writing ten in literally like ten years ( LOL ) and it's him SCREAMING at donna for feeding him egg substitutes ( sorry, seashell ) . . . fits, since five is a vegetarian with aspects of a vegan lifestyle LOL

oh and i wanted to share my vision, since i'm a nerd about this type of stuff— idk if anyone noticed, but my five and ten blogs pretty much mirror one another. down to their banners, promos ( ten's promo being more worn out and fucked up than five's LMAO ) and carrds, and even to their rp icon styles. but i wanted to do something different with ten's.

i wanted five's to be pixel art, like an 80s - 90s arcade / video game, because that's the era he came out in. oh, this is also me telling you that if you didn't know yet, i DID make a tenth doctor blog! @sandshoed, hi. ( it's a sideblog to this one, so it follows from this one, meaning if i already follow you u get NOTHING! but to see me and talk to me TWICE as much!! woe upon ye. ) feel free to interact, i have muse for them both and neither account is going to die don't worry. that's literally why he's a side for the foreseeable future, so that i can switch between them at a whim and have all of my drafts on the same dash. i'm interested in roleplaying the fourth doctor in the future, too, so if i ever make a blog for him, it will likely be under the same circumstances and follow the same format. cheers!

i didn't think i would end up keeping this song when i threw it on here but it just... works really well structurally. sigh... okay well it kind of works thematically. we're moving into some merger au territory at this point, which is my way as a fan to give fleet more of a self-actualization arc. establish his own identity, make friends, accept his existence a bit more. 13 is again more focused on the caring environment of groovy train (and the idea that this won't last forever) but we'll come back around to merger in a second.

Went to the doctor just for a check up and he basically just told me "your body just processes sugar very well! :) :) :) It's a good thing! :) :) :) It can't possibly be the source of your symptoms even though eating fixes it :) :) :)" But there was also a moment when talking about my iron deficiency that is possibly one of the funniest things a doctor has ever said to me, up with the cardiologist who said "you're a medical mystery": He was going over my blood test results, and said "Your iron levels haven't gone up at all, they are still extremely low, but you're not anemic anymore" And I was like how am I not anemic anymore??? And he said "Your hemoglobin levels have gone up...somehow..." while frowning at the blood test results on his computer. It was very "somehow, palpatine has returned" lol

the whole tiktok ban situation is super crunchy and I'm conflicted. Because on the one hand...it does feel startlingly close to a kind of censorship and I think the whole 'chinese government links' thing is pure scaremongering. But on the other hand I genuinely think that tiktok has accelerated the rate of enshittification of so, so many things. Like it has been a net harm in basically everything. Even the publishing industry is suffering now. As someone who wants to get novels published, the entire state of the publishing industry catering to tiktok and the quality of even bookbinding rapidly deteriorating in the past couple of years, I've been reconsidering and thinking about simply setting up a website/archive to self publish my work.

So...I don't know. It's not as if other social media sites (X, Facebook, etc.) haven't done harm, and it's not like huge media giants like Google haven't caused possibly irreparable damage to how things work now, but...I just distinctly remember a pre-tiktok, pre-covid world and things legitimately weren't as bad online then as they are now. Tiktok actually feels uniquely bad. The change happened so rapidly, too. At what point do we decide that a product causes enough visible harm that it needs to be removed? Because that's what tiktok is, at the end of the day. It's a product. We don't have the same clear measurement as we do with, say, lead paint on children's toys, but idk idk idk...

confessing that i accidentally started the ‘did jack love kent’ debate because i really want to elaborate more. so here’s my original tweet that was in response to ngozi’s check please unpopular opinions post:

I’ve thought about this a lot and this is just a thesis statement of it all so here’s my justification.

i tweeted part of this too, but with jack’s intensity and the nature of his relationship with kent i just don’t believe that he wasn’t in love with him. they don’t call him jack 110% zimmermann for nothing, and a relationship/fwb/situationship whatever you want to call it with your best friend is not the kind of thing jack would be half into.

i do think though that jack believes what he told bitty. i think this post by @bittysthesis and her tags really hit the nail on the head. like jack knows that the way he felt with kent and the way he feels with bitty are different, and he knows he loves bitty, so he deducts that he didn’t love kent. however, i think he was in love with kent, just in a very different way. jack loved kent in a very desperate and nervous way. jack knew they were never going to have a sustainable relationship. even if jack never od’d he knew that they wouldn’t be able to continue what they were doing on separate teams, and the competition of being the number one pick polluted any hopes of their relationship ever having a future. there was always an expiration date. it was a love doomed from the start, but a love nonetheless.

jack with bitty is such a strong juxtaposition to this, like obviously he has a much healthier and truly happy relationship with bitty. and i love the boy but he is not always the most in touch with his emotions (i mean it took look at his graduation) and so i don’t think it registers to him that what he felt with kent can be considered love, just a wildly different kind than what he has with bitty.
